The retreat is over. What do we do now?
So the retreat is over. Ajahn Brahm came and went. He left a lasting impression on this visit to Toronto. How can we pay gratitude to him? It is only by following the Noble Eightfold Path. The eight factor being, The Right Concentration. As Ajahn Brahm says this the stillness of mind. The right concentration is defined as the four Jhanas. This sounds like too hard to achieve. However we just met someone who openly says he has been there and done it. He even gives a stepwise guide in his book, "Midfulness bliss and beyond" to Jhanas. So where do we start? We have his teachings and training still fresh in our minds. It is the best time to start. We have his book as the guide. Lets make a group to meditate, once a month one Sunday of the month. We still have to find a place. I have spoken to few friends and all are eager and ready to start. We have a group of five to start with. That is big enough. The only commitment is keeping a life time five precepts. Lets give it a try.
